Thanksgiving STEM

Thank you to everyone who donated items for our Thanksgiving STEM challenge.  Below are some pictures of first graders planning and creating a table to hold all of the food for the Thanksgiving feast!

First graders really love building and exploring with the different STEM materials that we have in the classroom.  

Halloween Fun!

We had a lot of fun on Halloween!  First graders worked on fun Halloween themed math activities.  The highlight was building pumpkin towers out of toothpicks, candy corn and marshmallows! 

Mindfulness

We had our first visit today from Tracy Affonso.  She taught us that being mindful can help enhance our focus and concentration which will help us be better learners.  She also taught us the following poses/stretches:

• Finger Fiddle
• Rock the Baby
• Mountain Pose
• Ragdoll
• Sitting Pigeon
• Sitting Montain Pose
