First Day!
We had a great first day today in 1S! We started the day by emptying out our huge backpacks and organizing our pencil boxes with supplies. We then talked about the rules and expectations of our classroom. Each student traced their handprint and decorated it to "sign" our class rules as a promise that they will try their best every day to follow the rules. We also read a book called Wemberly Worried and talked about what it meant to be worried and how some of us were worried for the first day of school, even Mrs. Spellman! In math, we began exploring some of the math materials in the classroom, some were new and some were familiar; pattern blocks, power polygons, geo blocks and snap cubes! Tomorrow we will explore the math materials we did't get a chance to explore today. I can't wait for another fun day tomorrow with all our new friends!

Updates:
- Take Home Folder: Your child brought home a take home folder in their backpack today. Please be sure to check this folder every day and empty it. Today I sent home 3 notices that need to be returned to school at your earliest convenience.
- Blog: I sent out two different emails today with a permission form for our blog. Please be sure to fill it out so I know who does and does not have permission to have their picture posted on our classroom blog.
- Wish List: It was brought to my attention that the link to our classroom wish list wasn't working properly. Everything should be up and running now if you click here. All donations are greatly appreciated! Thank you already for all the glue, baggies, magic erasers and tissues! They are all major necessities in our classroom:).
